For those fans who can't make some of the Rovers games this season, particularly the high number of costly and time consuming southern away games, we at Total Tranmere will be providing a Match Discussion Thread on the Site for every Rovers game.
The thread will allow you to discuss everything from the pre-match build up and starting line-up to the game it as it progresses and the post-match anaylsis.
Where possible, Total Tranmere staff will post up the starting line-up and substitutes on the thread as soon as it is made known at the game.
Tranmere of course host Wycombe Wanderers in Coca-Cola League One on Tuesday evening in what is another vital game for Rovers, so if you're not going to the game why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on.
Maybe if you have a friend or family member texting you from the game you can post their views here for others to see as the game progresses.
You could also use this thread to discuss other interesting scores throughout the league as well as discussing this game afterwards if you have been along to the game.
What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.

must win and be a nice lift for saturday, as exeter are showing from the swindon game there digging in for survival.
Must win is right but with this performance any hope now is akin to the drowning man in mid ocean.
In the short term some will blame Parry but the architect of our downfall has been the chairman.The last year has shown that whatever his motives his decisions have led to this dreadful season

It just doesn't get any better.
Are there any positivies that can be drawn from from going down to League 2?

we are going down withouth much fight on this showing we were so poor it was embarrassing. Outplayed by the team 2nd to bottom says it all no pride no passion poor tactics little effort no skill relegation is a certainty and deservedly so on that showing.
Final nail in the coffin and I have been saying it for ages. Les is a joke, I am sorry put everything from team selection to his press conferences are laughable. It was the same tonight as it has been for ages and I am sick of it.
No passion, no pride and definitely no ability. We are down, its done and dusted, players have to show pride now. Too angry and annoyed to say anything else!

Get a grip mate. Les is a physio - not a manager. No one wanted the job and we're closer to safety than we were when he took over. Yes it's not nice, its been a horrid season but anyone who blames Les is just stupid or clearly cannot remember pre-october.

Our team has nothing to it, no back bone, no strength, no passion. None* of them care, none of them have any pride in Tranmere, and 80% of them aren't good enough to lace the boots of last seasons starting line up.
The blame firmly lies with PJ and that divvy from the the start of the season.

I believe Peter Johnson has his heart in the right place. If he didnt then he would have taken his money out of the club a long time ago. I am concerned at the animosity shown towards him. We must be careful or he will take his money and leave us in the same position as Chester.
I am gutted about tonight, but it must be Les that takes responsibility. He has no tactical sense and it is costing us. His subs tonight were a joke. I have seen the table and it will take a miracle for us to escape this mess.

I'm sorry Mikey but we had over 40 applicants for the job. Yes he is a physio and should never have taken the job. Everyone and their dog can see the formation is useless but he sticks with it. His subs are a joke and he should step aside now, and let someone see out this season and prepare for league two.
Strange how some people didn't post after the win over Norwich the other week.
I said from September the players we had weren't good enough regardless of the Manager and tonight nailed it home to more fans than ever.
We could still stay up but if we do go down we need to start fresh for sure.

The players clearly are not good enough as we are in the bottom four and going down on merit. The least i expect from the team is effort fight commitment but i didnt see any of that tonight the players should be ashamed of themselves for such a performance.
Personally i would think if we went for jimmy harvey he would take the job but who knows.

the subs did have logic and tbh I think too many fans sit in the stand thinking their mourinho.

At the end of the day we just are'nt good enough, a mixture of inexperienced and over the hill players, a passionate manager with poor tools to work with, at the start of the season we had all hoped for more of what we did last season, but cuts in wages, a poor decision to sack the manager, and trying to start the season with 9 new faces in the team was never going to work. Time to prepare for next season, all the loanees will go, bring in the reserves, give them the opportunity, we need to rebuild, maybe a few seasons in league 2 will do us some good, might even find a goalscorer!

We had 9 new faces in RM's first season though, never ended up like this.
The players, and first management team were just way out of this depth.
Some of them are Blue Square quality at best.

were down thats for sure but dont blame les yes some off his selections have been dodgy but that fact we stayed in the race for this long is amazing in its self after wot barnes had done to us i nearly wet myself when the fans started to sing for shuker when for the past 2 yrs he has given a lot of stick (all correct by the way) very sad trfc fan
Does P.J have aheart.he was a self confessed Everton fan but very ready to sell for a handsome profit.His money in the club is the problem and not the solution. for 15 years now we have operated with a burden of debt to the chairman because rules were stretched when he bought Everton.Any other club in our situation would long ago have taken the short term pain of administration for the long term prospect of strategic restructuring. we cannot do that because our major debtor is the chairman and he is not going to settle for 15p in the £.
That leaves us with the question what is his game plan.No one will buy the club at a price eqivalent to his debt. So is it to let the football side wind down and then to get what ever return he can from liqidating the assets.
has P.J ever spoken in recent times about his future vision for the club? If he has I missed it. it would be good for the playing public to know just what are his plans.
The idea of P.J as saviour is just mythology.
That leaves us with the question what is his game plan.No one will buy the club at a price eqivalent to his debt. So is it to let the football side wind down and then to get what ever return he can from liqidating the assets.

Its not over yet, their will be more twists and turns yet. It is a shame that the unprofessionalism of some of our 'better' players results in them not playing/making the bench.

No doubt this result and performance are bad news. But we're not down yet. We still have a very good chance of survival. But not because of our abilities, instead because there are so many other equally poor teams around us.
I love Les as an individual. And he's achieved a lot since he's been here. But he confuses me. He can get the team firing on 6 cylinders for Southampton and Norwich but not turn up for Wycombe and Wallsal. Does that mean that he's not a good enough manager to motivate his team consistently? Or does it mean he's done an awesome job of inspiring a bunch of misfits to play way above themselves for a couple of big games? Sort of like Aldo did for cup games?
Either way, we need more consistency next season, whichever league we are in. If we're in the 4th division next season I'd love for us to take a gamble on young managerial talent and some young non-league players. For a club like us the only way we can hope to punch above our weight is to get lucky with cheap but inspired gambles. We can't hope to pay our way to success.

Ricci you're in cloud cookoo land. For @#$%& sake, Les is the best we could @#$%& get. If there were better people then we would have @#$%& got them but we @#$%& didn't. He's done the best he can and tried his @#$%& hardest but at the end of the day the effect he had on the players in the first few months of his reign have well and truely gone now and the players don't give a @#$%& @#$%&.

PJ is a self confessed kopite and is a regular visitor to watch the rs. As does Rogers.

Lets all give £1 to the Supporters Trust on the understanding that they use the dosh to buy Euro Lottery tickets. When we win the £40 million it will buy the club and invest for the future.There's about as much chance of that as us escaping relegation!!!

I think that the Norwich result has actually backfired on us. I've not been to many games this season and have been lucky with the ones I have been to, but I honestly didn't think that was a good performance overall- I think it might have bred some over confidence all round.
looking forward to the possible push for promotion, a new start and some of the dross dumped, local fixtures and a lot less doom and gloom....................... or another year of @#$%& and moaning................. ?
