Surprised that we had slightly more possession than us, very surprised in fact! Looking at their team sheet though you can just see how well we did today. Players like Radi Jaidi belong in much higher leagues. The guy is a tank!

12 vs 11 realy but aint tranmere's fault! ref was awful! we didnt get going at all. fair play to tranmere they needed it more than us, were win the league next year. coys

Blah Blah Blah - s*** happens I'm afraid and the number of times we've had referee decisions go against us this season is unbelievable.

As I've always said though you have to be good enough to win regardless of the referee's decisions and today you weren't.

The referee was poor for both sides I thought. He should have given Southampton a penalty for a push on Barnard and possibly they should have had a free-kick for that back pass by Broomes, two things that seemed clear cut to me, though I've heard we should have had a penalty for a hand ball down the other end which I missed because I wasn't concentrating!

Still though, Southampton came and their biggest threat was Lambert from the free-kicks, which weren't up to scratch today.

I was expecting much more from their front two but Goodison and Broomes kept them quiet and did a good job, limiting the chances mainly to set-pieces.

They do though in my opinion have the best defence in this league. It's absolutely awesome, especially the centre-backs, so we've got to be delighted to score two today.

What !!!!!!!! how can any southampton fan have a go at the ref, barnard was a joke he needs to concentrat staying on his feet & not being offside it was embarrasing the way he tried con the ref for a penalty near the end.

Not so sure the O'Neill push was a foul but Broomes one certainly was. However the reason the referee didn't give the one with Broomes (which I thought was a foul), is probably because Barnard was diving here, there and everywhere in the first half.

If he hadn't gone down so easily with so little contact at other times he would of had the free-kick and Broomes sent off.

Very funny. We know our defence is crap, the TV audience saw how bad it was when we played Portsmouth, and you found out yesterday.
I am still trying to work out why we paid Exeter for Seaborne - what was he thinking when he gave away that penalty.
