Throughout the season we provide you with a platform to discuss each and every Rovers match whether it be the build-up to kick-off or post match analysis so here we bring you the Match Discussion Thread for Saturday afternoon's Coca-Cola League One match away at Southend as Rovers look to continue their quest to get out of the League's bottom four......
Saturday 13th February - Coca Cola League One
Southend U v Tranmere
Kick-Off 3.00pm at Roots Hall
For those fans who can't make some of the Rovers games this season, particularly the high number of costly and time consuming southern away games, we at Total Tranmere will be providing a Match Discussion Thread on the Site for every Rovers game.
The thread will allow you to discuss everything from the pre-match build up and starting line-up to the game it as it progresses and the post-match anaylsis.
Where possible, Total Tranmere staff will post up the starting line-up and substitutes on the thread as soon as it is made known at the game.
Tranmere of course away at Southend United in Coca-Cola League One on Saturday afternoon in what is another vital League One relegation game, so if you're not going to the game why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on.
Maybe if you have a friend or family member texting you from the game you can post their views here for others to see as the game progresses.
You could also use this thread to discuss other interesting scores throughout the league as well as discussing this game afterwards if you have been along to the game.
What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.
i cant see them going into administration over £200000. We have yet to win back to back games this season and although this would be the perfect time im going for a draw
as we move from game to game, each one is getting more important, today is massive, if we win we're likely to be out of the drop zone and once were out its only ours to lose.
Listened to the first half, absolutely dreadful. Their keeper may as well go to the pub, because he has had nothing to do. Going forward we are a disgrace, not one chance created again, if we get anything from this game I will be massively shocked.
It is no surprise we don't score when our midfield is Edds,Welsh and Mclaren. Get a bit of creativity on Les for god sake, Barnett, Mahon or Shuker on.
well listening it's still up for grabs, sounds like a soft penno against us ! just one down we can pull it back and I think we will, as results around us stand we must get some points today
you look at today and the results around us got better, but also you look at Oldham, a couple of good results and their possition looks so much better, it's all still tight at the bottom
we got 1 ALL DRAW away from home even last season that would have been a mircle just becuase our home record aint great dont mean it over four points from the last to games is not bad for a team at the bottom of the league, if we can just keep our heads up we will stay up we have had worse times than this look when little was manager we wernt great but we still had confidence of staying up
It was never a penalty. The referee was a total joke. We played with heart and commitment but we were s**t to be honest. The young lad Marvin worked his nads off and only got taken off because he was wiped out. McLaren was abysmal and Logan, who I normally rate, was so negative it was untrue. Luckily for us Southend were equally dire. The fans get my man-of-the-match award. Only 189 of us but they never shut up, unlike Southend's pitiful support who never started. Les is the man. We just need more quality.
That was the most blaitent penalty I have ever seen. Definite penalty and one of the few things the referee (or rather his linesman to be fair) got right.
From a TRFC point of view, Daniels did well although I'm convinced he should of saved the penalty. It took an age to reach the net and he guessed the right way.
Thought Logan was OK, as was Broomes. Bakayogo looked extremely shaky first 15 minutes but after that he really got going again. Goodison was immense, he's such a leader and deserved his goal.
McLaren was absolutely awful, his tackling is abysmal and he was lucky to be on the pitch with an extremely late tackle. When we compare stuff like that to Luke Daniels red card and David Martins booking, it makes you wonder where the consistency is as the tackle was extremely late. Edds was shocking first half but much better the second. Welsh was unnoticed. Not sure if thats a good or a bad thing, I didn't notice him do anything bad, but he didn't do anything spectacular either.. so I think thats good!!
Curran was another lucky to be on the pitch with a late tackle from behind in the second half, but as usual he ran his socks off. ITM was good again as he has been last few weeks. Massive improvement on his form through November/December. MOTM for me was Sordell. I wasn't convinved after last Saturday's 20 minutes but today he stood out. He held the ball up well and his pace is going to be useful. He never really got any chances in front of goal to be fair but his all round game seemed to be really good and he brought something different to our attack.
Overall a good point, we're now THREE games unbeaten AWAY FROM HOME!!! Since when do we ever go on run's like that away from home...
Although we're still in the relegation zone, we're slowly pegging teams back and a few wins could see us reach 13th place so I still think it can be done - the rest of February is absolutely vital though.
Really delighted with the point, a terrific result and well deserved by the sounds of it. So happy to be picking these valuable points up at games where even a month ago we'd have probably lost. We're getting more consistent, more solid, stronger and looking much more threatening. The only way at the moment for us is up, and that's where we're going...
