Rovers recieve major injury blow with key player to be out for three weeks

Tranmere Rovers have today announced that versatile youngster Ashton Taylor will be out for three weeks after pulling his hamstring during Tranmere's 1-0 win over Gillingham on Tuesday night.

Taylor, 19, came off during the first half of the game at Priestfield after picking up the injury, being replaced by another versatile player, Gareth Edds.

With being out for the three weeks, Taylor will miss Tranmere's away fixtures at Southend and Brentford, as well as the home games against Leyton Orient and Huddersfield, though it is hoped he will return for the sides home game against Southampton on March 6th.

The youngster, who came through the Tranmere youth ranks and can play at centre-back or in centre-midfield, has been a key figure for Rovers this season, already making 29 appearances and scoring three goals.

In other injury news, Tranmere have today announced that another central figure in their squad, Ian Goodison, will have his ankle injury assessed ahead of Tranmere's game against Southend on Saturday, having picked up the knock against Oldham a week ago and missed Rovers' trip to Gillingham mid-week.

think we can cope though as long as we dont get anymore injuries

A loss if Goodison come back to defence to give us more defenders available but in terms of midfield Edds is a more than capable replacement.

He'll back soon will Taylor so no worries from me about this!

a love the way fans said he wasnt good enough at the begining of the season but yea he is a big miss told yous all to have faith in him
