Rovers were given a timely boost after Monday's frustrating 0-0 home draw with Carlisle Utd with the news that defender Zoumana Bakayogo has signed a contract extension that will keep him at Prenton Park until the end of the current season havign previously only signed until January.....

Immediately after Monday afternoon's disappointing 0-0 home draw with Carlisle United in Coca-Cola League One, Rovers announced that defender Zoumana Bakayogo has extended his contract at Tranmere until the end of the season.

The 23-year old, who joined Rovers earlier this season initially on a short term deal until January, has been an ever present under Manager Les Parry, winning a number of Man of the Match awards from sponsors and supporters and his extended stay is a huge boost to the squad and the fans in the bid to avoid relegation to League Two.

Speaking of the deal extension for Bakayogo, Manager Les Parry said...

"I'm really pleased Zoom has agreed to stay with us.  He has done very well for us at left back over the past couple of months."

Bakayogo himself added...

"I'm very happy to have signed. I really like this club and the players and I'm happy here.

"I enjoy every day on the training ground and I'm looking forward to the rerst of the season."

Absolutely delighted that Zoom has signed on for another six months. He's had an excellent positive influence on our performances, both in attack and defence, and has managed to push a very good left-back out of the side. Let's hope he can extend his stay past the end of the season!

This is great news that we've secured Zoom till the end of the season. Hopefully he'll sign a new deal in the summer.

i guess even a blind squirell finds the occasional nut!!! good work from JB.

But better organised defence/midfield has helped him out!

Personally think he is our best chance of a goal every time he goes forward.

think his 1st touch an control is truly AWFUL, but he's got pace and heart and puts a decent cross in.
definately helped improve the clubs chances of survival
