Macauley Nets Brace on Colwyn Bay Debut

Tranmere striker Josh Macauley scored twice on Saturday afternoon on his debut for Colwyn Bay whom he joined on loan on Thursday and could have had a hat-trick to round off a fine week for the youngster who also scored for Tranmere's Reserve side on the same pitch earlier this week before his move.
Whilst his parent Club Tranmere fought out their first points in seven games in League One on Saturday afternoon, Josh Macauley was netting a brace of goals and almost a hat-trick for the Colwyn Bay side whom he joined on loan this week to gain valuable first team experience.
Macauley, who scored at Rossendale's Dark Lane Ground in midweek for Tranmere's Reserves against Rochdale made it three goals in four days on the same pitch after starting the game for his new temporary Club.

After former Rovers cup hero Dave Challinor had headed the Seagulls ahead after half an hour, Macauley added to the tally either side of half-time (on 43 and 50 minutes) to put the visitors in command and should have marked his debut with a hat-trick after another former Rovers favourite Alex Hay's pass put him through one on one with the goalkeeper but Josh could only fire over the crossbar.
Bay added a fourth on the hour mark to seal a comfortable win on Macauley's debut which also sent them to the top of the Unibond Divison One North Table.
Speaking to Colwyn Bay's Official Website after his debut, Macauley said....
"I should have had a hat-trick but I really enjoyed the game. They (Colwyn Bay) are a good team and it was nice to get such a good win in my first game."

Ian Moore is our most talented striker by far and he's being subbed off after working his @#$%& off and even left out the team the other week...
If he can't get a proper game for Rovers, the poor kids are gonna struggle!
i wish ricketts would die.. and i cannot wait till Bas Savage is back..
This loan spell will do Josh the world of good in my opinion.
ricketts stands just inside their half and barely moves all game..

he's also better in the air than savage, holds the ball up, is better technically and more likely to score.
Don't get me wrong for work rate reasons, I'd rather have savage of the two (at the moment).
and by the way he didnt play the othjer week coz he was injured not coz he was left out the side.
ricketts is good and strong and can hold the ball upp soo you dont no what your taalking about to be honest

moore cant score and dosent realy doo much he dosent get subbed very oftenn and he missed out the other week coz he was injured not left out the team rickets is tall strong and good at holding the ball up and has scored already and nearly scored again against colchester soo you dont realy know what your talking about
bain looks a good player.
he was in the car park complaining to the fans.
And he's our leading scorer so less of the personal comments about not knowing what im going on about ya t1t. Whats the 2 above comments all about??
MikeH fair enough mate we just have different opinions and thats fine. I personally think when Bas is back and fit you'll see the difference more. I hated Bas when he signed so maybe the same will happen with Ricketts, cross my fingers i do.. but i just can't see it mate

yeah I warmed to Savage as well and like I said I'd probably go with him of the 2 if he was fit but he's not.
There's a real concern with who will score goals, for all his plus points, bas will never be a regular goalscorer, moore's never been prolific. I guess Bain is the big hope but otherwise I'd probably have ricketts as the most likely scorer.
Bain certainly looks hardworking and promising i agree. giving him 8 minutes every week is doing nothing for him though. Agree that goals are gonna be hard to come by.. But WHATS NEW? it's been like that for years now, we still done ok for ourselves thanks to the defence. I'm confident if we tighten up at the back, the points will start slowly rolling in and the strikers will land on their feet..... though i dont think Beckford will be looking over his shoulder
