After a week of submissions, we have chosen our winner in the first of our giveaways of the new Tranmere Rovers Book, Tranmere Rovers: The Complete Record. Last week we asked you to look at the picture we gave you and e-mail us with the year in which the picture was taken and today we have a winner.....
Last week we launched our first competition to enable one of our readers to win a signed copy of the newly launched Tranmere Book, Tranmere Rovers: The Complete Record and we can now confirm who the lucky recipient of the book is.
A week ago, we asked you to take a look at the picture below and e-mail us with the year that you think the photo was taken and although we had a large number of entries, there were only a small number who got the answer to the question right.....

Most of you will have probably recognised Neville Southall on the near right of the picture which was a small clue as to what the picture was showing and perhaps a clue to the year.
The game was Ronnie Moore's Testimonial game played on 17th August 1988 against Everton at Prenton Park, a game which according to the Book, Rovers lost 3-0 in front of a crowd of 9,802 people.
The names were placed into a hat this afternoon and one was drawn at random by an independent person who chose the winner of the Book, signed by all three authors, as Mr. K. Kirkby who will be contacted in due course about collecting his prize.
A further competition will be launched in the coming days giving you a further chance to win a signed copy of the book that Rovers fans are all talking about. As a reminder to those who missed out on winning this prize, you still have another chances to win later this month or you can also buy the book yourself at a discounted price using the details on THIS LINK.
