Ronnie Moore gave his pre-match views and team news ahead of Saturdays long away visit to relegation fighting Brighton. A win could move Rover's into the play-off places and would certainly put pressure on the teams above them in the play-off race.
Ronnie Moore gave his pre-match views and team news ahead of Saturdays long away visit to relegation fighting Brighton. A win could move Rovers into the play-off places and would certainly put pressure on the teams above them in the play-off race, as well as giving a great boost to our own team.
Ronnie Moore told Tranmere World...
"If we play and perform like we did at Oldham it's a game we can win. There's no room for error now. We've got to go and be attacking minded. We've got to make sure we have enough of the game to give ourselves a chance of winning it.
"There are seven games to go and we're fighting and scrapping like mad with half a dozen other teams who all think they've got a chance. There's a massive prize at stake and everyone at the Club knows it. But we're not the only ones who know it.
"Brighton are fighting for their lives and every point is vital for them as it is us. It will be about taking chances when they come. Brighton have good players and shouldn't be where they are. I know Russell Slade really well and he wants to play football. This will be a test for us but we can't go there with fear. If we want to get into the top six we have to win back to back away games."
"We've picked up one or two little niggles so we've got to see how they progress. Greeny isn't a million miles away and there's every chance he could have some involvement in John Achterberg's Testimonial on Monday. It will be nice to have him available.
"Ian Moore has picked up a little knock in training so we'll have to see how he is. Andy Taylor has trained and will be available, but Aaron Cresswell did nothing wrong. Ryan Shotton misses two games through suspension, but we have players who can play in that position and hopefully it won't affect the performance of the back four."

It's about time Ronnie stuck with Aaron I think, from what I heard he played well and it's good to see him supporting him in his pre-match talk, the back four will be difficult to sort out with Shotton missing, no doubt it will end up being Edds in his place, I just hope Sonko can keep his performance from Oldham up as well, he played a blinder there.
