A reminder to all Rovers Fans who had been due to travel on the Club Coach to Colchester United this afternoon that this coach has been cancelled due to lack of numbers booked on it leaving some fans stranded at home and unable to make the game this evening.
For those few fans who were due to travel by the Official Club Coach later today for the trip to Colchester, this is just a reminder that this coach has been cancelled due to lack of numbers attending.
In a statement on the Official Website late yesterday afternoon, the Club said....
"Tranmere Rovers regrets to inform fans that the supporters' coach for tomorrow night's game at Colchester United (Tuesday 10th February) has had to be cancelled due to very low booking numbers."
"We would like to apologise to all fans who had booked or were intending on travelling via the coach. A full refund is available from the Ticket Office."
Whilst Total Tranmere understands the loss to be made by the Club on providing a coach for so few numbers, we feel that the decision is an extremely unfair one and that surely some sort of smaller transport could surely have been provided as with a re-arranged game at Swindon Town back in March 2006.
For a Club that was able to risk over 50 free coaches last season in the FA Cup in the hope of further progression (a ploy which worked until the third round stage), it seems a little unfair to not provide one coach at a loss this time around, particularly given the fact that some fans have already lost money by travelling to the first game which was postponed.
Whilst this postponement was not the fault of the Club, the fact that supporter numbers are already decreasing suggests that this decision may make matters worse with regard to the supporters.
The Club have a business to run I understand that but this seems really harsh to me.
I've got lucky in the fact that I've been down in Coventry for the weekend and have now stayed with Jimmy which enables me to drive the 2 and a half hours from here tonight and then the four and half hours home but for some who were relying on the coach it's extremely harsh - especially if they are ones who travelled down to the original game that got postponed.

I also blame the F.A giving us midweek tuesday night against colchester to travel to southend on the saturday in a space of four days, which in the current economical climate is not good some, im sorry for those who cant make it but make sure you bring the white power on saturday at southend.
yeah its sad like and wouldn't take much to put on a smaller coach, but as you said about the cup run last year, the gamble didn't pay off and were obviously paying for it in todays hard times.
maybe if the club had said earlier the fans on the coach could have arranged to go together it would probably have worked out alot cheaper to?
Found at last night that the Offical Tranmere Figure was 118 and also that none of the Players knew until the journey home that the Supporters Coach had been cancelled.
Had they known that we may have got more applause from them at the end of the game than we did!
