At least we kept a clean sheet without Goodison.

thats not the point ronnie was getting at though, he said we need to learn to WIN without goodison, not keep clean sheets!

Goodison doesn't help to score the goals - he stops them. We didn't miss him today so from a defensive point of view it was an improved performance.

wank performance. A little passion would have been nice. Only Barnet looked arsed to me. Bas continued his lazy donkey approach. I'm so annoyed!

yer cleen sheet is a bit of a positive but 0-0 isnt especially when RM came out and said we want promotion this week somehow i dont think were goin to get it if we cant beat 5th from bottom.

mikey right from the beggining it was obviosu that we missed goodison. We just werent the same team we havev been all season at home.

Goodison gives the whole team confidence and a lift because no matter what he always shows the way to rest of the lads.

Savage should have started it was quite clear we where 10x more dangerous when he was on.

Edds is shite and should be dropped so barnett can move central.

Agree with rich about charlie he got stuck in and worked hard jsut needs that extra confidence which will come!

with ian not playing possibly our biggest goal threat (kay) had to be moved back, im no saying this was a rm mistakes,
just pointing out that if goodison was playing tony can push on and bag vital goals,
there was too many people who didnt want to be there yesterday, we need players who want the jersey eg shotton, kay, chorley...

Leyton Orient came for a point and go it. They had the best defence at Prenton Park I've seen this season. Both centre backs were superb. We couldn't get space or time on the ball and as such we couldn't get a final ball in. I thought we huffed and puffed but credit Orient, they played well

I starting to think that it's gone very@#$%&at Tranmere.I pay good money every week and watch a load of ham shank. It's very very poor form the team and the manager. I'm starting to think that i don't want to waste my money no more till it changes.It's very sad but a fact. It was so boring yesterday my god.

I think this season we really just need to ride out the storm to be honest. If we can just have some stability this season then next season I think we could push on. What I mean is that it's clear we're lacking a cutting edge at the moment but we are without 3 strikers and we're also short in midfield I feel and also on the wings the cover isn't really there if we have injuries. Next season you'd hope Jenno is tied down to the club properly, we have a new winger and either O'Callaghan is back or replaced with someone else. We'll also have the likes of Ahmed off the books which although I don't think is a good thing, I think it's something Ronnie wants to do and hopefully with releasing some of these fringe/not quite good enough players we can strengthen the squad. Unfortunately I'm not 100% sure Ronnie is the right manager to take us forward, I think he's ok but his habits of playing players out of position, not giving some of our home grown players a chance and making the wrong subs far too often is costing us I feel. Just my opinion but I don't think the tactics and style implemented so successfully for Ronnie at Rotherham are really working here and the lack of a killer instinct by the team over the last 2 and a half seasons is a bit of a concern. However, I think if we could find that magic ingredient to turn dominating performances into wins and at least pick up the odd point away from home we'd be doing really well. My biggest frustration sometimes with Ronnie is his call for consistency but when we had a winning formula with Edds in the centre, Ronnie changed it and brought Kay back. Like I said I think it will eventually come good at Tranmere, the youth setup is fantastic, the facilities are pretty good for a team at this level to be honest and the fan base is potentially massive but for some reason we've been lingering in mid table obscurity for longer than we'd all hoped!

Very dissapointed. They offered little up front, but we didn't create enough chances. We were poor first half, but picked it up a little second half, but we need to be on it f or the full 90.

Bas seemed unable to win most balls in the air, and Shuker seemed to give up with about 20 mins to go.

After watching the boys again at the weekend all I can say is that we have no got no chance of getting promotion this season...









...if we don't improve our away form, that was a pretty solid display regardless of the result, our home form has been fantastic once more this season, but our Fulhamesque performances on the road are likely to cost us a place in the play-offs this season. I have no problems with our home form since the lads sorted out their performances after the Millwall game. But since the Orient game after that we aint won. If they are the side that changed our fortune at home after winning away at their place, maybe playing them at home means that our away form will improve

It's not the most convincing idea, but it might work.....

I agree with Mikey about Goodison and with Matt about Orient and their defence.

They came for a draw (as you would against a side that had won their last six home games) and had nine or ten men behind all nearly all the time.

How we missed Goodison when we kept a clean sheet I don't know and it's defintely a positive from the game as Mikey said.

Still in a good position with a hard away game on Tuesday (hopefully).

Yes but we have to able to find ways if beating those teams that come for a draw if we are to push for promotion, and i honestly think our performance was nothing like that in the previous two home games

There is always going to be negativity if we are failing to beat teams in the bottom 4 regardless of being home or away we should be beating these teams if we are to have any hopes of promotion. My point, although it may seem negative is more that we have problems this season that hopefully we'll be able to overcome next season. Regardless of people's opinions on Ronnie, I personally find it very difficult to believe there hasn't been a decent enough player in goal/midfield/defence/up front that could have stepped up to the level of first team football. That's my main gripe with him to be honest, that's not so much negativity, its a fact that he would rather loan players from other clubs to do the job instead of playing the likes of Danny Holmes, Paul Henry, Luke Waterfall etc whenever we're short of players. However, there are a lot of good things Ronnie does so I guess these things balance themselves out over the course of a season. Problem is, when we play as badly as we have done at times this season, especially away from home, would it be such a bad thing to have thrown on one of our own youngsters? I think our main problem this season has been injuries though, Ronnie aside, negativity aside, away performances aside, you can't argue that had Greenacre, Curran, Gornell, O'Callaghan, Goodison all remained fit all season we would been more likely to pick up more points than we will eventually get IMO. There's 5 good players we've had out for large proportions by the end of the season, any squad at this level would miss them. I feel next season could be our year if the club has a season ticket initiative and we manage to keep hold of most of the first team squad. Long term I think things will be good.

Dani,i don't know what game you were watching,but Edds was the only one in midfield who played well,Jennings was on holiday,Kay was in & out & Barnett didn't seem to know what to do with the final ball,Sonko did well until he went off,he even won a few headers!!!We need a playmaker,someone who can read & control the game & get things going,we looked as if we didn't have a clue,which we have done a few times this season,& we need someone to inspire the players when Gooddison isn't there

I agree Wayne. Edds played well and I also think Sonko did before he went off although many will probably disagree.

Football needs to be played on the floor, if you continuously hoooooof the ball, the object of the game is lost.
Savage is an absoloute disgrace, and the club should get rid of him, as soon as possible. He contributes nothing at all to matches, he doesnt even win that many headers for his size.
What you want in the team, is greenacre back, to bang the goals in.
Moore out and someone who has some knowledge of football in, all Moore thinks about is hooooof ball.

You didn't go the two home games against Carlisle and Stockport then I take it?

Yes it is hoof sometimes but in League One and Two (and even the Championship) it happens a lot and we have to accept that.

The hoof ball is C@@p to watch. And it's not getting us out of this leauge. This is his third year he has had. And as for the@#$%&fringe players are he brought them all in. I pay more the a kids tickets so when your balls drop you will understand

Regardless of Dani's age and what ticket price he pays - that doesn't make his opinion right or wrong.

For any manager to get us out of this league, it's gonna take a minimum of three years for them. We're a small club with no funds, we have to buy fringe players at times to make up numbers as we don't have an unlimited wage budget.

To me there is far too much negativity - we're in a play-off battle, not a relegation battle. If our away form picks up and we maintain our home form then I'm sure we'll be in the play-offs come May. However we are struggling at the moment with injuries, and any team (except Leeds & Leicester) in this division who has 4 players injured, and 3 of them being there strikers, with the other there captain - they are going to struggle.

The injuries thing is exactly my point Mikey as well, any team at any level is going to struggle with 3 strikers out injured. I can understand the arguments on both sides, to pay for an adult ticket is over double the price of a kids ticket so I would agree that to pay £20 to watch hoof ball is very dissatisfying but occasionally you'll pay the £20 and be very pleasantly suprised like I was against Carlisle a few weeks ago. I think people's gripe with Ronnie is sometimes his team selection, subs choices and lack of giving certain players a chance. That's only a fans view though and we'll never know what really goes on behind the scenes but we're all fans of the same team regardless of our opinions on manager, player selection or team performances.

Well said Stanj. I remember when i come on this site along time ago and the same thing happened then. When you post somethink that some one else does not think is right the start calling you all kinds.I here to talk about Tranmere. I love Tranmere but i have my opinion about the manger sure it's not the same as some of yours

Spot on Mikey and I was just about to post the same thing on another thread.

A lot of fans try and put the Club down at every opportunity and even when they win away like they did last night they get negative comments made about the win.
