Deadly Submarine brings a brief look at the highs and lows of Tramere's undeserved 1-0 away defeat at Millwall on Saturday afternoon which included a scary walk, a scary train journey, an excellent bit of fan-to-fan banter and a decent Rovers performance.

Weather Report

It was fairly bitter in the top tier of the away Stand and a coat was definitely the best option on the day.

Crowd

8,257 The quite vast home ends looked quite empty in parts but they were noisy as ever whilst the 350 or so Rovers Fans did much to made themselves heard as well!

Referee Watch

Roger East (Wiltshire) - Despite some Rovers Fans feeling we had two late penalties turned down, the decisions by the referee were in my opinion correct.  There was a time when the game threatened to spiral out of control as mass confrontations took place but on the whole the referee had a good game  - 7/10

Best Moment

The Millwall Fan down to our right wearing a white top (who was later sat next to us on the train out of London) provided the entertainment for the majority of the game as he abused the Rovers Fans on his own and also fell over at one point.

Worst Moment

The goal that sunk Rovers was to say the least harsh and was totally undeserved.  Rovers had been on top for long spells in the game and had created some decent chances but football one again proved how harsh a game it can be.

Also due to transport problems, the Total Tranmere lads had to walk 20-25 minutes from Bermondsey Tube Station to get to the game rather than the adjacent South Bermondsey Station - a walk which I personally would not want to repeat,

Funniest Moment

The banter between the Millwall and Tranmere Fans during the game which included a Millwall Fan down to our right wearing a white top (who was later sat next to us on the train out of London) provided the entertainment for the majority of the game as he abused the Rovers Fans on his own and also fell over at one point.

Also, one of Total Tranmere's very own (he knows who he is), getting abuse from the Millwall Fans to our left who started singing ‘Who's the W****ker in the Green!"

Tranmere Man of the Match

Antony Kay - Two of Tranmere's London boys Bas Savage and Ben Chorley had good games and both could have scored but it was the Yorkshireman Kay who outshone the rest with a great performance in central midfield.

Connections

Bas Savage was booed from start to finish by the home fans as he used to play for them of course last season before moving north.

Rovers Fans

Noisy for most of the game but as mentioned above, the home fans also did their bit to try and out-sing us.

Summary

A great performance from Rovers who deserved a win let alone the draw we would probably have taken before the game kicked off.  To lose was unjust and a bitter pill to swallow.

Entertainment Value

Rovers had the better of the game which at times was exciting and certainly did enough to keep most of us warm (unless your name was Mike K and you had previously complained that it wasn't cold at all!). 7/10
