All the News and Statistics ahead of Rovers visit to Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon in Coca-Cola League One. Rovers will be looking to build on the superb 3-2 win away at Port Vale last week by completing back to back away victories for the first time this season.

Rovers are at the seaside this weekend as they travel to the Fitness First Stadium to face Bournemouth in Coca-Cola League One.

 

After last Saturday’s excellent 3-2 victory away at Port Vale, Rovers will be looking to record back-to-back away wins for the first time this season as the play-offs still look a fair possibility for them prior to this trip.

 

Earlier this season, Rovers overcame the Cherries by a one-goal margin as Kevin Ellison’s 41^st minute strike was enough to seal a 1-0 win at Prenton Park back in October.  At the time of that game, Rovers were flying high in League One but since then have slipped to just below the play-off places but are still in with a chance of making it.

 

The Cherries currently find themselves in 19^th place in League One with 43 points and therefore just three points above the drop zone making every point for them as vital as they are for Tranmere.

 

Bournemouth have won four and lost two of their last six home games but their overall record this season at the Fitness First Stadium isn’t too encouraging with nine wins but also eight defeats to their name.

 

The home side go into this game on the back of a 1-0 home win over Millwall last weekend thanks to a first half goal from former Spurs and England veteran Darren Anderton who also recorded his first ever professional hat-trick recently in a thumping home success.

 

Rovers have won two out of their last three games on the road with victories at Yeovil and Port Vale sandwiching a defeat at Leyton Orient.

 

In recent times there have been very few goals in matches between these sides with both of last season’s encounters ending 0-0 and this years other match ending 1-0.

 

Rovers Fans however will recall a 5-1 win at Bournemouth a few years ago which proves that such results are possible.

The Cherries are likely to be without Marcus Browning (calf) but Michael Standing is fit again and striker David McGoldrick has re-signed on loan and may start.

 

Fellow loan signing Luke Summerfield may make his debut for the home side.

 

Tranmere Rovers

 

Rovers are still without John Achterberg ((knee) and Olly James (foot) whilst John Thompson (knee) is still a week away from being available to play.

 

Jason McAteer is likely to be available to play following a recent injury.
