All the News and Statistics ahead of the visit of Blackpool to Prenton Park on Friday Night in Coca-Cola League One as Rovers look to make it four wins in a row. Tranmere are fresh from a great away win down at Brighton. Blackpool meanwhile, won 3-1 against Huddersfield at home.

Coca-Cola League One at Prenton Park

 

 

Its Blackpool for Tranmere this week, and after a great away win The Rovers are looking to win a fourth League One game on the run and continue a great spell of form, leaving Tranmere just outside the automatic promotion spots.  Blackpool meanwhile have been in good form of late and won 3-1 last week against Huddersfield.

 

For Tranmere a win is all that Ronnie Moore and the fans will expect and the likely return of Calvin Zola could help.  For Blackpool is will be a tough game as Tranmere are on top form and have only lost one home game this year.

 

Tranmere have started well this season and sit just outside the automatic promotion spots.  After recently coming through a poor spell Tranmere have responded with three straight League One wins.  Blackpool meanwhile started the campaign with three straight defeats, but after this they managed a lot of draws and more recently have started winning games and look on good form.

 

Last season, the teams managed two draws.  For those that travelled to Blackpool last season they will remember the heartbreak of conceding a last second goal after a hoof upfield which somehow ended up in the Tranmere goal as the centre backs failed to clear, cancelling out Delroy Facey’s 81^st minute goal. 

 

In the home match goals from Greenacre and Hume were cancelled out by a Scott Vernon goal and then a 69^th minute equaliser by John Murphy. 

 

This season Tranmere find themselves in fourth place on 31 points and 1 point behind second placed Scunthorpe.  Blackpool, meanwhile, find themselves on 25 points in 10^th.  It’s a winnable game for Tranmere providing we continue playing good attacking football.  Lets make it a great atmosphere and look forward to three points.

Rovers will be without Kevin Ellison (ankle), Olly James (foot), Steven Jennings (knee) and Carl Tremarco (ankle) for the visit of Blackpool.

 

Striker Calvin Zola (foot) has returned to training but this game may be too early for him whilst loan signing John Thompson will be available again after having his loan from Forest extended by a further month.

 

Blackpool:

 

Blackpool are without Marc Joseph (hamstring) but striker Ben Burgess had no ill effects from a recent hamstring injury when he appeared last week as a substitute and he should be available for the Seasiders.

 

Blackpool will also have Carl Dickinson available after his loan from Stoke was extended this week and on Thursday, they beat the loan transfer deadline to sign 20-year old Nottingham Forest defender Vincent Fernandez on loan.
