It doesn't come too much as a surprise that Chelsea's Michael Essien has been charged by UEFA for his OTT tackle on Liverpool's Hamann during Tuesday night's Champions League Group G League game.

Why is it no surprise I hear you ask? Well UEFA hate Chelsea, its as simple as that!!

Essien has been charged with 'Gross Unsporting Misconduct.' But do we expect UEFA to charge Sissoko for his outrageous OTT tackle on Eider Gudjohnsen? No course not!! - Liverpool are European Champions after all. Got to protect and look after the European Champions who after all are going on a two-week jolly to represent Europe for the World Club Championship.... PAH!!

There are clubs that UEFA hate, there are clubs the UEFA love. What category do Chelsea fall into??

Sepp Blatter, FIFA President said basically that Essien should be charged in as many words and as UEFA are within the jurisdiction of FIFA, up they jumped and well the rest is history.

The worst that Essien and Chelsea can expect....... is Essien being banned from the rest of the Champions League competition.

Well at least Chelsea are in Europe!! Its just a shame we can't draw BENFICA in the knockout stages.
