When the FA Cup draw was being made yesterday and Peter Osgood, Stamford Bridge Legend, pulled Chelsea out of the hat or ball number ten and then Jim Montgomery gave us Huddersfield, I immediately went into a 'What If' scenario.

'What If' Welling United had beaten Huddersfield in the first round proper a couple of weeks ago?

'What If' Welling United then went on to beat Worcester City in the second round this weekend?

'What If' Welling United were drawn against the mighty Chelsea?

As I say 'What If'?

If you have followed or are following the progress of Welling United on the message board then you would know that Welling United are my local non-league side who are currently chasing promotion into the Nationwide Conference, from the Conference South.

COME ON YOU MIGHTY WINGS!

Huddersfield Town manager Peter Jackson reaction to the draw was sheer delight. He said " It won't affect our promotion bid." His players were warming down after the Worcester game and Jackson joked "They thought I said Cheltenham." Jackson added "I am delighted for them."

Chelsea and Huddersfield have met before in the FA Cup and the most recent meeting was back in 1982-83 when Chelsea won 2-0 in a replay after the first game ended 1-1 at Leeds Road.

More recently in a 1999-2000 League Cup-tie at Stamford Bridge Huddersfield caused a shock when they won 1-0 with Kenny Irons scoring.
