Classic Jose on the laughable penalty attempt of the 'petulant 14 year schoolboy, Robert Piries' as described by ex-Arsenal hero Charlie Nicholas on Saturday's Soccer Saturday.
"You know why they took the [second] penalty like that yesterday?" José smiled. "They have so many penalties in a season they had to do something different."
Just couldn't resist starting off the reaction section of the game at Goodison yesterday with Jose's superb dig in the ribs at Arsenal, Makes a change as we all have to put up with the mumblings of the Whinger each and every day. Fair play to the man, he did support the 'schoolkid' after his Sunday League error. LOL LOL LOL (stop it Ed).
It has to be said Jose wasn't too happy with the outcome after the 1-1 draw. Jose said "We scored two goals," he insisted. "Normally when you score two goals and concede one you win the game."
"It was a clear goal," Mourinho continued. "Even if the linesman has doubts, he has to give advantage to the attacking team. They also have instructions to wait until the last moment to put the flag up. This time, like a rocket [the linesman raised his arm]."
"On television even less doubt. It was a big mistake."
But as Jose had his point so did Everton manager David Moyes. Moyes said that he was delighted with his side's display and gave Chelsea the fullest praise and Frank Lampard's stunning performance. Moyes continued "Chelsea are the best team in Europe. They have fantastic players and I have to give a lot of credit to our players for making a game of it. You can’t plug all the gaps. You have to decided which leaks are the best ones to have."
As usual Jose had the final word by announcing that sooner rather than later, Chelsea would drop points and in a veiled statement recognised Wigan's performance in the first game of the season. He said "I was ready for a draw or to lose a game," he shrugged. "It’s part of football. It’s normal. We should have dropped points first week, at Wigan."
And then came the 'Classic' Jose.
