He decided to change the 'system' against Wales and left Rooney as the lone striker and put Beckham in centre midfield DUH!! and then has the front to pop at Lampard for a slow start to his season. Well, what do you expect? A newly become father and then has to get to grips to a 4-5-1 system that is probably alien to him. No power runs into the box, no surges from midfield and obviously no goals for which his style of play of last season brought him a multitude of awards.

And then tonight. Still the same system, but Saturday's matchwinner Joey Cole was sacrificed for Newcastle's newly acquired signing in Michael Owen and what could Owen do. Nothing. Zlich. Nada. And to cap it all off, Eriksson gets Rooney to play on the left. What is going on?? Everybody knows that Rooney's strength is to play off the front man and in most of the game against the Welsh, Rooney was found coming deep so many times to get the ball to try and produce the powerful runs that Rooney is fast becoming renowned for.

As hard as it is for me to write this, but I have never witnessed so much passion showed by fans in another country of the United Kingdom as the Irish were tonight and there is a message for 'The Kop', European Champions or not, you have got a lot to learn as supporters of all clubs have about supporting your team.
