If the technology was readily available in 1966, with the infamous Geoff Hurst 'did it or did it not cross the line' goal, then we would already have goal-line camera technology. The above and the Liverpool versus Chelsea goal on Tuesday night are just a couple of examples of goal-line controversary that has dogged the game, not only here but worldwide too. Surely the FA, Premier League, UEFA and FIFA have to recognise that the goal-line technology has to be embraced and be used to stop these types of refereeing mistakes happening again, not only to Tottenham and Chelsea, but to any club in the professional game.

Before you start crying with hysteria AGAIN!! Liverpool fully deserved their victory on Tuesday night, not just with their overall defensive organisation but a lot was due to Chelsea's inept attacking opportunities. I mean. ONE shot on target over two games. It isn't alot to inspire confidence about, thank God the title is all sewn up and wrapped in blue and white bunting. I have already written and commented that what goes around, comes around and with the bad luck that Liverpool have had in the previous games against Chelsea this season, they WERE due some good fortune.

I was so glad that Sky TV took it upon themselves to prove once and for all that the 'goal' scored was not a goal and Chelsea can count themselves extremely fortunate that Cech wasn't sent off had the referee not decided to play the advantage. The assistant referee, Mr Roman Slysko was adamant that it was a goal. He also said that he had 'beeped' the referee to point out Cech's foul on Baros and added that if the goal had not been scored, a penalty would have been awarded and also Cech would have been sent off. It doesn't make an ounce of difference now. Its all done and dusted and confined to the history books. History books that will show Chelsea twice beaten Champion League semi-finalists.

When you look that Man Utd have failed to even make the CL quarter-finals in the last two years and Arsenal only reaching the CL quarter-finals only twice in six attempts, the misty eyes can start to dry a little.

Interesting then if Cech had been sent off. Drogba would more than likely have been sacrificed and therefore we wouldn't have had to put up with another inept and embarrassing performance from the so-called Chelsea hitman. Continuing the criticism, I believe Arjen Robben is suffering mentally from getting involved in a game and risking more injury on his ankles. His performance on Tuesday night reminded me of a rabbit being startled in a car's headlights. Fear, frightened and extremely inept.

This coming Saturday sees the presentation of the Premiership title which will take place after the match against Charlton, which is a 12.30 kick off and is being shown live on Sky. Yours truly will be there and will no doubt have teary eyes for most of the day. But what the hell!! Grown men can cry. Women find emotion in a man an endearing quality (snigger) Just don't tell the wife!

One final note. I think it is disgusting that should Liverpool win the Champions League, they are NOT going to be allowed to defend their trophy, unless they finish fourth.
