Super Frank returns to the squad for the game at The Stadium of Light and WILL travel to Japan for the Club World Cup more or less straight after this afternoon’s game. Captain, Leader, Legend JT has not sufficiently recovered from his knee injury to even journey to the Land of the Rising Sun, on doctors orders.

‘The Portly One’ said yesterday afternoon before the squad travelled to the North-East, “Terry will not fly to Japan because the doctor has warned of an inflammation and said that flying is not the best idea, so he will stay here and obviously miss the Sunderland game as well.

“Lampard has been training today, he’s is in the squad for Sunderland and if everything is fine he will come to Japan. At least we have one important player back because we need character and experience.

“If you have to play him because something’s wrong, he can make a difference. If you play him when everything is fine, he can also have an impact and with his quality and experience he is welcomed.”

CAREFUL ‘PORTLY ONE,’ YOU ONCE SAID SUPER FRANK IS OVERRATED.

As for the Club World Cup. I really don’t care what happens out in Japan, win or lose.  

For me it is an unnecessary distraction, a money spinner for FIFA  and as usual our own Sweet FA haven’t done anything to help the Champions of Europe bring the Club World Cup home.

Chelsea play their first game on Thursday and then a second game on Sunday.

Then on Wednesday 19^th December Chelsea travel to Leeds to play in the League Cup and then play Aston Villa at home two before Christmas, before travelling to play Norwich on Boxing Day.

Normally a team from another European city represents Europe in the Club World Cup and after their 2^nd game they go on a two week winter break!

Know what I mean, get my drift?!?!

COME ON CHELS, BACKS TO THE WALL - THEY DON’T LIKE IT UP ‘EM!!

I hate giving out stats but as Sunderland’s hard man Lee Cattermole is ruled out for at least two months, Chelsea should well improve on their record visiting The Black Cats.

The Blues have won on their last seven visits to Sunderland and last season one of the goals was scored by a Danny Sturridge back-flick in a 2-1 victory.
