I never thought I would write this, but I really miss Didier Drogba. Chelsea misses the Dids. We miss a leader, someone with passion, commitment and up for the fight.. What? Yes I know. A few weeks ago I described Didier has an old carthorse and I couldn't wait for him to skittle off to Africa.

Yesterday at Everton there were eleven carthorses and AvB contines to resists the opportunity to play Danny Sturridge down the middle and Torres AGAIN fails to receive the service that his goal scoring talents deserve.

AvB dropped Cahill to the bench! and reverted back to Ivanovic and Luiz as the middle two.

Do we read into that AvB blamed Cahill for Chelsea's implosion last week against the Champions?

Goodison Park is always a difficult place to go to, but Chelsea turned up, laid down and let Everton tickle their tums and within four minutes the registered charity opened its doors when Pienaar stole in to give Everton the lead.

Losing possession from your own throw-in is simply 'Hackney Marshes,' then as the ball broke, Super Frank scopped the ball into his own area for Pienaar to run on to.

Everton's 2nd came when Neville crunched into Ashley Cole (on another day Chelsea may have got a free-kick) the ball found its way to Donovan who fed Strasqualursi in for the striker to blast past Cech, 20 minutes from time.

Despite Chelsea dominating possession for long periods of the game, again, and not for the first time this season, there was no cutting edge and for the first time this season, AvB made no excuses for the dire performance.

He said, "I think today was our worst game of the season, the worst in every sense of the word.

"Everton were fantastic today, their new signings have helped them improve a lot.

"In our performance we were short of anything positive, it's a difficult day, there were a lot of negatives to take from it and a lot of things we need to improve on bearing in mind the FA Cup and Champions League.

"At the moment we are fifth and that's not enough for us. We played with Mata between the lines when I brought Essien off but they scored straight away so I decided to put three strikers up front, and that was the logic behind my thinking."

Am an Everton Supporter and have always had time for CFC. Top Club. Hope that Ashly Cole is Ok after "that" tackle. One of the first fair hard tackles to be allowed this year. resulting unfortunately in an injury and a goal. The only point of contention in the game. But as an outsider, I can't for the life of me see what AVB see's in David Luiz. If your looking for the problem with Chelsea at the moment? he has to be your real weak link.

Always said Luiz is not a central defender and cheers. You must be the only non-Chelsea hater in the country

If we play like we did yesterday we will be lucky to get to Wembley FC and as for the Champions League aka Corrupt Cup, Napoli will eat us alive

Before he went to ACN he was playing like a carthorse. He was playing like his first season. Lazy, uninterested etc.

Since he has been away the rest of them have been the same and his return can only improve? the team!!



As for AvB. He is way out of his depth and too inexperienced and his recent selections and tactics, or lack of them, have proved very very costly.

If he lasts till the end of the season it will be a miracle and he can say he lasted longer than Scolari!!

Hardly inspiring stuff v Brum.

Strange subs...Torres off for Drogba didnt make much sense unless we were going to start pumping high balls in....
