HOLDERS - COME ON CHELSEA

The Academy showed the first team the way to go to win the first leg of a cup competition. Chelsea (FA Youth Cup holders) are just 90 minutes away from a second successive final if they can hold on to a one goal lead at the pressure palace at Old Trafford. The second leg is scheduled to be played on Wednesday 20th April, kick-off 7pm, the same evening as the first team play Birmingham City at The Bridge.

Chelsea's hero at today at Stamford Bridge was schoolboy Nathanial Chalobah, a defender, defensive midfielder and an attacking midfielder (practically a footballing all rounder) who has already represented England schoolboys with honours.

Nathanial scored two goals in the first half at The Shed End, two goals that the late King of Stamford Bridge, Peter Osgood would have been proud off.

Nathanial's first goal was similar to Malouda's goal against Wigan. From a corner, the ball bounced off the 'keeper and Nathan slid the ball in from close range.

His second goal again came from a corner, he leapt like a breeding salmon and his header looped in under the bar from about fifteen yards.

Chelsea's Jamal Blackman was a busy keeper doing well to save from Utd's attacks before the break.

Unfortunately he was undone on 55 minutes as Lingard scored with a hook shot into the far corner of the net.

The game ebbed and flowed despite the Stamford Bridge lunchtime heat and although Blackman denied Utd with some good saves, Chelsea scored their third when Bobby Devyne scored at the far post from a low Deen-Conteh cross who had broke down Chelsea's left.

(A sort of ball that Torres would have creamed off..... if the service was right!!!)

Utd scored their second five minutes later when Pogba headed in a Cole cross.

Obviously Chelsea's Academy coach, Dermot Drummy was beaming with pride at the end of the game when he said,

"It was a great game of Academy football, a fantastic, open match that I am sure people enjoyed watching."

Extraordinary scheduling which is Chelsea FC all over.

THERE WILL be LIVE coverage here on Wednesday 20th April as the Academy kick off at 7pm at Old Trafford against the 1st team kicking off at 7.45pm at The Bridge.

Say no more as it stands at the moment The Academy have the best chance of winning Chelsea FC a trophy this season.
