With thirty goals scored between Chelsea and Aston Villa en-route to the final which kicks off tonight at Villa Park, we are hopefully in for an attacking treat over the two legs. The 2nd leg at Stamford Bridge is on Tuesday 4th May, kick-off 7.45pm. Tickets for the 2nd leg will remain on sale until 5pm on the day of the game.

Chelsea beat Blackburn 5-0 in their semi-final over two legs and despatched Charlton Athletic, Nottingham Forest, Portsmouth and Watford along the way on the run to a second final in three years.

Villa were beaten in the semi-final before Chelsea lost in the final to Man City.

Aston Villa eventually overcame Newcastle United 2-1 on aggregate and also defeated Fulham, Millwall, West Bromwich Albion and Rochdale.

Aston Villa are managed by former Chelsea midfielder Tony McAndrew, assisted by Villa legend Gordon Cowans.

Academy coach Dermot Drummy is looking forward to tonight. He said, "I think it will be a really tough game. They are very well organised and like their first team have two very good wingers, are resolute in defence and have a very good work ethic. I am really looking forward to two great games."

The team trained on Tuesday morning playing the reserves in a 40 minute game then yesterday there was a light session and the team will travel to Birmingham this morning.

Drummy explained his decision not to stay overnight. He said, "As Birmingham is only a couple of hours away, I think it is better for the lads to stay at their digs as normal. We will rest at the hotel after lunch and have a team meeting before making our way to the ground."

THE GAME KICKS OFF AT 7.30PM AND COVERAGE BEGINS ON CHELSEA TV FROM 6.30PM.

The game wasnt the spectacle as anticipated although Chelsea had more chances than the hosts.

Villa took the lead after Ince played a poor back pass. From the corner Walker punched clear then the ball came back in and Walker was left stranded as Devyne's header looped over him.

Chelsea hit the woodwork three times - Mitrovic, McEachran and Sala right at the end. Walker made one good save with his feet in the first half, other than that both 'keepers were rarely troubled.

Chelsea's equaliser came from a Bruma free-kick in the 2nd half - richly deserved and now it is back to The Bridge on Tuesday, level at 1-1.
