A Christmas Cracker at the Cottage??

COME ON CHELSEA

It should be a Christmas Cracker of a London derby at Craven Cottage this afternoon as Chelsea with the best away record travel 'down' the road to take on the best defensive home record. So we are a guaranteed a 'boring 0-0 draw' then? Fulham, eighth in the Premiership look to go one game further in improving their poor record against Chelsea.

Out of 34 home games played between the two sides (including the one game played at Loftus Road), Fulham have only won SEVEN.

Their last victory was back in 2006 when Fulham prevailed 1-0.

Chelsea have won 21, including the last two and Chelsea have scored 59 goals, conceding 39.

What type of team will BIG Phil send out this afternoon - who knows? Didier was taken off as a precaution against WBA and I thought Dids and Anelka did alright for their first game together, so why not start the same team today as started on Friday.

Fulham's Jimmy Bullard faces a late fitness test on his dead leg he received at Tottingham on Friday.

Ray Wilkins facing the media, giving BIG Phil a rest said "Our away form has been very good and we just hope that can continue but it is going to be tough for us.

"Fulham won't lie down and allow us to do what we want to do. They will give us a bit of aggravation.

"They are our closest rivals so we want to put one over on them, but they will be full of confidence after their result against Tottenham."

Well Woy said they will not be just dwagging eleven men behind the ball and reckons that dwe will be going for the dwee points.......so should be a good game!

The last few games at the cottage have been very competitive. They haven´t lost in the last 8 games or so (or is it more?) so it´s going to be tough. That said, if Bullard and Hangeland aren´t passed fit then we should be much more comfortable.

As for the line-up Scolari will have difficulty leaving either Drogba or Anelka out - how can he? I reckon we´ll have the same formation as against West Brom - this sort of floating around front three where Drogba, Anelka and Cole all seem to interchange.

No Ballack so Deco will start.

I reckon Newcastle might get a point at St James Park against Liverpool (Owen to score!) so that should fire our lot up before the game.

Man Utd play tomorrow without Evra, Brown and Ferdinand....!

Going to be interesting.

By the way, that pic on the official site:

Proper football grounds like Selhurst Park,Craven Cottage, Fratton Park...sh-it- in a way I know, but they have character - be a shame if/when they eventually disappear.

We can consider ourselves lucky for the time being - we still have our ground and it´s modern without being one of those "souless bowls" that are proliferating around the country.

Ah! So who will start on the bench - Deco or Ballack?

Wonder if Carvalho is with the squad? Mind you, I´m happy with Alex and Ivanovic for this sort of game - could be very up and at em!

Carvalho is not due back until the Southend game - Same team for me, meaning Deco on the bench.

He has not been playing well recently and today may be too physical for him.

Fking typical though!

Carragher 2 footed on Owen - what does the ref do? F all! Just imagine it was Terry - they´d all be frothing at the mouth.

Newcastle goal was onside.

That said Liverpool have missed a hatful of chances.
