Deco is Named Barclays Player of the Month

I can't remember a bad two weeks in a long time with the two weeks that our beloved Blues have suffered. A draw at home to Tottingham, Ribena goes to Abu Dabbi, SWP scores more goals in two games than he did with us, Essien out for the season after suffering cruciate ligament damage against Libya last weekend.

Joey gets a cheese crater across his head in midweek (nice work after scoring two goals against Andorra), JT almost gets decapitated and 'Mr Chelsea' Steve Clarke gets on his bike to West Ham (Yep the same club whose shirt sponsor has just gone bust!!).

Any good news? Well howabout Deco in his first month as a Chelsea player being named Barclays Player of the Month for August.

Deco1

Next up for Chelsea is a trip to Abu Dabbi (the club with more money, money, money than sense).

I read something in the paper the other day that their new owners want to brand everything with City in front of it and emblazoned every product in the City light Blue. Good luck to 'em I say.

Also Adu Dabbi's new owner wants to win the Premiership next season, then win the Champions League after that all in between buying Ronaldo for £165m in the January transfer window.

Go for it I say... I hope Abu Dabbi's owners realise football is a fickle business and they will never recoup their billion, billion £ outlay.

Well oil is the key. That's why GWB sent the world to war.

I digress I apologise... Chelsea travel to Eastlands tomorrow to play the 'new money on the block' and the game kicks-off at 5.30pm.

I was gonna go, but Since88 is skint and due to circumstances beyond on my control couldn't rely on the bank to help him out..... as it happens Since88 has got to work.

Chelsea are on the telly tomorrow, but the game is being shown on that TV station based in Ireland (you know the same station that deprived the nation of England's inept win against Andorra last weekend and the wonderful win in Zagreb on Wednesday night).

There will be LIVE updates on the message board tomorrow, unless you are up the pub or round your mates, then bookmark this site and comeback tomorrow.

Early and obvious team news is that Essien is out as is Ballack, Mikel according to Scolari is struggling to make the game, Dids is 60 to 70% in the reckoning.

I am hoping that the travelling Chelsea fans 'give it' to Ribena but show their appreciation for the professionalism and commitment to SWP for the time he spent with us.

Quite right about the rough 2 weeks we have had - seems to have put a bit of a cloud over us. Hopefully our lot will be really up for it and play REALLY well.

Having said that I have this nagging feeling that there is going to be a sending off - hopefully not for Terry for launching Ribena into the Kippax (or whatever the equivalent is these days!).

So what are Scolari´s options?

-------------------------Cech

Bosingwa-------Carvalho-----------Terry---------A Cole

-----------------------Belletti

-----------Deco------------------------Lampard

----------------------J Cole

----------Anelka---------------Kalou

Actually, there´s not much chance of that line-up in a 4-4-2! (?)

Probably Belletti at the back of midfield, Deco, Lampard, J Cole on one side, Kalou on the other and Anelka in the centre.

Drogba to come on in the 2nd half.

genius!

it was never a read though, i wonder if slur alex had had a word after vidic got two yellows and will be out for the game next sunday.. we should appeal and all the pundits seem to think it was harsh, vidic was last man and only got yellow. Jt wasn't and god red.. typical! but Alex and Bran can do the job with Riccy...

Top of the league. Ktbffh!
