You can be certain of a few facts that involve Chelsea FC as they prepare to take on Feyernoord of Holland in tonight's pre-season match in Rotterdam.
Joe Cole is OUT, 'Hello Hello Hernan Crespo,' has LEFT to return to Italy (on a two year loan deal) and William Gallas has now been given the No.3 shirt after his temper tantrum last week which cost him his No.13 shirt, now worn with pride by Michael Ballack. In the second game of a rushed pre-season programme Chelsea face a Feyenoord side fresh from their 2-0 win against Middlesbrough, a Chelsea target Dirk Kuyt one of the scorers. Chelsea won 3-1 on their last visit to Rotterdam in the Champions League and a similar result tonight will go a long way in preparing for the Community Shield clash against Liverpool on Sunday at the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff. After Joe Cole's injury in Chicago on Saturday, The Special One is even more resigned to treating the Community Shield as a pre-season warm-up and the trophy is not on his list of priorities. If Chelsea's announcement yesterday of Community Shield tickets going on general sale today, it seems the journey to Cardiff is not going to be taken by many in Blue. Michael Mancienne, Jimmy Smith, Ryan Betrand and Michael Woods who were taken on the trip to the USA were involved with the first-team in yesterday's Blue Day Out at Stamford Bridge and are expected to be in the travelling party to Holland. Kick Off in Rotterdam is 6pm (UK time) this evening and full news and updates will start on the message board from approx 5.30pm. Chelsea TV are showing the match live and exclusive. COME ON CHELSEA! 41 YEARS A BLUE!
