Lee Trundle has topped Wednesday fans wanted list after a poll carried out last week on Wednesday Wonderland.
The 29-year-old Swansea striker recieved 26 per cent of the votes in a poll completed by 118 Wednesday fans over the last week.
Wednesday have, of course, made a substantial bid of £750,000 for the league one hitman, who scored a hat-trick in the game against Chesterfield at the weekend to take his seasons tally to 14 for the season already. The bid was rejected by the Welsh club, and the deal now looks dead in the water.
Wycombe striker Nathan Tyson came a close second with 22 per cent of the votes. The Owls had an offer accepted for the former Reading man, but Tyson decided that Wednesday wasn't the club for him at this stage of his career.
Leon Best is the most likely of candidates to make the move S6 after chairman Dave Allen publically said that he will fund the deal himself, and that Sturrock has very high confidence in the young Southampton striker. Best had his loan spell cut short earlier in the season after suffering injury, but still managed to grab a goal for the team in the 1-1 draw with Hull City. Best compiled 15 per cent of the votes.
Newcastle striker Michael Chopra got 14 per cent of the votes, and Dexter Blackstock, Marcus Tudgay, and Iwan Reden also got their fair share.
Wednesday fans certainly don't seem keen on the idea of bringing MK Dons striker Clive Platt to Hillsborough, despite Sturrock's apparant liking towards the ex Torquay striker.
