Four Wednesday players have been selected in the Championship official team of the week which was released by the FA today. David Lucas, Graeme Lee, Frankie Simek, and Chris Brunt were all chosen from matches in the divison this week.

Four Wednesday players have been rewarded for their performances at the weekend with a place in the football leagues Championship team of the week.

David Lucas, Graeme Lee, Frank Simek and Chris Brunt were all selected in the team thanks to their efforts in helping Wednesday climb off the bottom of the table.

David Lucas felt hard done by following Coventry's first half penalty, but put a steady performance in against the sky blues. Graeme Lee also helped cement his place in the first team, and Frank Simek joined Lee in the team of the week defence. Chris Brunt is the standout player in the team after his superb 35-yard volley which put the Owls 2-1 ahead at the weekend. His corner provided the first goal for Graham Coughlan, and his penalty in the 79th minute was the decisive goal.

The only surprise is that many people's man of the match Craig Rocastle was not selected in the team.
