Wednesday have announced that two 'substantial' bids for Wycombe Wanderers striker Nathan Tyson have been turned down. The Owls have been on the lookout for a striker following the sacking of Adam Proudlock but look to have missed out on the ex-Reading forward.

Wednesday have confirmed they've had two 'substantial' offers for Wycombe striker Nathan Tyson turned down.
Tyson has hit 11 goals in 9 games this season for Wycombe, which has seen them climb the table in recent weeks.
Wednesday put a bid in for the ex-Reading striker as a loan until the January transfer window, where a full transfer would then go ahead.
Chairman Dave Allen has previously said that there is money available to help buy extra players but has not given an exact figure. £600,000 was mentioned in the pre-season, but the only money that's been spent has been on David Graham, which was believed to be just £100,000.
Wednesday have been desperate for a striker since the new season saw injuries to Steve Maclean and Drew Talbot. This weeks sacking of Adam Proudlock has made matters worse, and a new striker is a must for Sturrock.
This announcement looks like Sturrocks pursuit of Tyson is now over, and he will be looking elsewhere to fill the gap as soon as possible.
