Cotterill Hints at Lafferty Return

Burnley manager Steve Cotterill has today hinted at the possibility of young striker Kyle Lafferty returning from his loan spell at Darlington.

Lafferty, who has scored three times in eight games for the Quakers, recently extended his stay at the Williamson Motors Stadium for a further month, a deal which included a 24 hour recall clause.

This clause may well come into use now, should the Clarets be further hit with injuries and suspensions.

Cotterill said, "We didn't want to pull young Kyle Lafferty back just to be what would have been a substitute on our bench,"

"He will get another game in for them at the weekend, but maybe we need to make a call to bring him back if we need another body."

Why not vote in our current poll which questions whether Cotterill would be right to recall Lafferty, or whether it would be more beneficial for the youngster to get more games under his belt at Darlington.
