The 18-year-old, who recently signed his first professional contract with the Clarets, is heading to the Darlington Arena on an initial one month loan in time to be involved in their weekend clash with Notts County.

The Northern Ireland Under 20 ace has been a regular in the first team squad at Turf Moor this season, making five substitute appearances for the Clarets so far.

He will now be hoping to add to that experience during his time with the Quakers, who are currently 10th in League Two and just one point shy of the play-off places.

"It should be all sorted out this morning (Friday) and he should be going to Darlington to be in their team to play against Notts County on Saturday," said Burnley boss Steve Cotterill.

"That's a nice little opportunity for him and I think he does need that."

"Kyle is one of those players we need to send out on loan and hopefully he'll go and do well and come back a better player for it."

"It'll be a massive experience for him because there's no point in him playing in the youth team and reserves, we need him to go out there where it counts and see him stick his neck on the line and go and score some goals."

"If he does get a few under his belt that will give him a lot more confidence and certainly the experience is invaluable."
