Burnley are set to sign Artim Sakiri on a one year contract. The Macedonian has agreed a contract with the Clarets and the player is waiting to be granted a work permit.

The midfielder spend a week training with the Clarets in July and played in two friendly games against Accrington Stanley and Malaga. Burnley have already applied for a work permit but his was turned down. The club have appealed against this decision and will find out if the appeal is to be succesful on Thursday.

Steve Cotterill had this to say....

"Artim has signed a one year deal for the club, but he has been turned down for a work permit,"

"But that will go to an appeal on Thursday and we hope that we will be successful.

"Out of all the free transfers still available, we thought Artim was the best one and having come back from Austria and found him still available, we decided to make a move for him.

"We needed someone to supplement and push the midfielders we have got and we thought Artim could do that."
