The Clarets played their first pre-season game at Whaddon Road this afternoon. The game was arranged a year ago as part of the deal to bring Michael Duff to Turf Moor.

Steve Cotterill gave debuts to 5 of his summer signings with the 6th, Richard Keogh, mysteriously nowhere to be seen. Two youth players, Kyle Lafferty and Chris McCann, both made the journey down and managed to play some part in the game.

The game finished nil nil with Gifton Noel Williams missing the best chance of the game. The manager was happy with his sides run out and our next friendly is at Accrington Stanley on Wednesday night.
