Burnley managed a 1-1 draw this evening against Crewe Alexandra at Gresty Road. Tony Grant equalised, scoring his first goal in 2 years, the 2nd of his Burnley career.

Burnley had quite a few chances from Oster and Valois in the first half, but Crewe managed to take the lead in the 17th minute with a Steve Jones shot. Luke Varney had the best of Crewe's chances in the first 45 minutes.

Clarets fans didn't have long to wait though for some hope. In the 52nd minute Tony Grant scored his 2nd ever Burnley goal following a cross by Pete Whittingham.

The game then just summed up Gresty Road's reputation on the 75th minute. There was a power cut at Gresty Road leaving all the commentary teams without power for 30 seconds and the floodlights off for around 5 minutes. Clarets World, who had equipment problems earlier, somehow stayed online throughout. The floodlights started to come on one by one until 10 minutes later, the few that seemed to be starting up went off, leaving 7/8ths of the ground without light.

Fortunately, at 21:35, the floodlights started to come back on, followed shortly after by the teams who had to warm-up all over again.

The match restarted with a Burnley free kick and a double Crewe substitution which was about to happen before the interruption.

Crewe then looked to be the better team in this last 3rd of the half and despite Ian Moore replacing Graham Branch in the 84th minute, neither team could take 3 points and Burnley add another point to give us 44 and put us into 11th.
