Birmingham Bid for Blake

Birmingham City have declared an interest in Robbie Blake, however like Wigan and Nottingham Forest in past weeks, the Blues have been unsuccessful.

The Clarets have decided to reject Birmingham's 1.25 million bid for Blake and this comes not soon after Wigan chose to not pursue the striker any longer.

Wigan failed in trying to get Blake on the cheap and Birmingham's bid appears to the club to have not met their valuation of him.

Blues manager, Steve Bruce, said before the bid was turned down:

"We need some cover in attack and Robbie is bright and lively and has scored a lot of goals in his career

"He has got good pedigree and we like the way he plays. He would fit in with us perfectly." 

It's now looking likely though that another club has come in with a better offer and the chances are they will be a Premiership side. Once the transfer window re-opens next month for Premiership teams, Blake could be off before our FA cup tie at Turf Moor.
