The Clarets suffered a second successive defeat in the league at Loftus Road on Saturday. The Hoops got all their goals in the opening half hour to give them the victory.

Steve Cotterill made just one change from the side that beat Aston Villa with Frank Sinclair coming back into the side at the expense of Richard Duffy.

Burnley could have had a penalty in the 7th minute when Robbie Blake was brought down but referee Nigel Miller gave nothing. QPR took the lead in the 11th minute after winning a very, very dubious penalty. Kevin Gallen scored from the spot.

A few minutes later it was two when George Santos, a transfer target in the Summer, headed in from a free-kick and the game was over shortly afterwards when Danny Coyne misjudged a ball which Paul Furlong got to and scored.

Burnley lost a few players through injury, Danny Coyne was replaced by Brian Jensen, Graham Branch was replaced by James O'Connor and Richard Chaplow replaced Valois.

Steve Cotterill was disappointed with the performance and had this to say.......

"For the first 25 minutes of the game, we were as bad as we've been this season," said Cotterill. "The game was over after that, but I thought we could have had two penalties before theirs."

"I've got a hearing coming up soon, so I don't want to say anything. We were poor though and we have to look at our input to it and we weren't good enough in the first 25 minutes."

"Well done to QPR though, they were like a whirlwind in the first 20 minutes and we looked like we left the whirlwind back in Burnley the other night. Where did the saying 'after the Lord Mayor's show' come from?It was a bad day for us."
