Burnley drew 2-2 with Coventry at Turf Moor with the Clarets coming from behind twice to secure a point. The draw means our unbeaten run is now extended to 8 games.

Despite the news that Ian Moore could be out for a few months with his upcoming surgery he was passed fit to play last night, the only change from Saturday was Jean-Louis Valois coming in for Tony Grant. The team lined up roughly as follows.....

Burnley missed a couple of good chances in the first half as Luke Steel saved well from Blake and Chaplow. Coventry also had a couple of half chances but the scoreline of 0-0 at half time was fair.

Burnley went up a gear in the 2nd half and took the game to Coventry. Despite our pressure it was the visitors who took the lead when the left winger beat Michael Duff and his cross was converted by Johnson. Burnley levelled straight fromt he re-start when Robbie Blake was brought down in the box, he stepped up and put the ball into the keepers left corner.

The Clarets really should have made Coventry after this goal with Blake missing a glorious chance when he beat Steele but his effort was cleared off the line. The 2nd goal for Coventry came from a Burnley corner, a swift counter attack let in Graham Barrett who beat Coyne to give the Sky BLues the lead once again. Once again Burnley's reply was swift when Graham Branch bundled the ball home with his knee after Blake's knockdown.

Steve Cotterill was pleased with the point.......

"I suppose it was well earned after coming back from behind,We showed good character in the match to do that and I thought we did a few things that we weren't renowned for!"

"I thought it was a very quiet tonight though, a bit too quiet and it didn't look like anything would happen but when they scored it came to life."

"We could've killed the game off if we'd taken our chances and there were a few good saves from the goalkeeper," he added. "I also thought we should have had a penalty again in the second half when there was a definite handball."

Speaking about Robbie Blake......

"Robbie didn't give anything away for his penalty, because there was a shout from the sidelines about where he was going to put it but he didn't give the keeper a glimpse and kept his head down in the run up," he said. "It was nice for Graham to score because we've been talking to him about scoring more goals. "It's good for him and good for his confidence because he isn't always the most confident of players."
