Singing section to be tried.

Today Burnley Football Club officially announced its intention to trial the idea of a singing section during the televised league match against Derby County on October 22nd.

Such a singing section had been called for by many fans worried about the lack of atmosphere at Turf Moor.

Such atmosphere 'problems' seem to be common place throughout the Championship, with the Madjeski stadium on Saturday being more 'morgue-like' in atmosphere than anything else.

Many fans have been disappointed by attempts to create 'false' atmosphere with goal music, giant flags, cheerleaders and a loud PA man. Thus the club have given them the chance to prove that raw emotion and good old fashioned songs are the way forward.

The section will be in the James Hargreaves Upper and existing season ticket holders can have their tickets transferred for this match.

The club have also agreed to change the match to category B and introduce a quid for a kid scheme.

The Longside welcomes such moves and hopes all clarets can get singing, whether it be in the specific area or elsewhere.
