Reports in Asia suggest that Manchester United may be considering a pre-season tournament at Old Trafford to prepare for the 2004-05 season. With another english team a possible to join could Burnley be invited? READ: Reports suggest that four clubs may take part in the event. Manchester United, Japan's Urawa Reds, Mexico's Cruz Azul and one other.

Suggestions are this could be an english side. Of course there are a number of possibilities. Stoke City are one option, with the semi-rivals being invited to Old Trafford.

Walsall have strong links with the club after signing a player fostering deal, while we all know our developing links with the reigning English champions.

Already Chadwick, Wood, May, Roche have come to Turf Moor from Old Trafford, we played the club in a pre-Christmas friendly and Sir Alex Ferguson will speak at the fundraising reception in early March.

However at the moment this is all just potential. Manchester United may still decide to go back to the USA, after a successful tour last summer.
