Defender, Arthur Gnohere is today discussing with QPR the possibility of making a permanent move to the Loftus Road club. During the first half of this season he enjoyed a loan spell at the London club where he became an invaluable member of the team. The club are hoping he will join the club to retake this role and provide cover for their Nigerian defender, Danny Shittu, who is out for 9 months.

It looked unlikely Gnohere would move after talks broke down last week, but QPR are hopeful that a deal can be done.

QPR Chief Executive David Davies said: "Arthur is the player we would like to bring to Loftus Road, but obviously any deal has to be right for all concerned."

"We will sit down with the player's representatives and hopefully talks will reach a satisfactory conclusion."

It therefore seems that Arthur could be a Hoop before this weekends fixtures. If so, it will end a good time at the club for the former Caen man, who made his debut for the club in a pre-season friendly.

Remembered most for his brace against Preston, he was a no nonsense defender, who often suffered from a lack of confidence and sporadic bursts of eccentricity.

With Stan saying only a couple of weeks a go he needed another centre half, it may now be time to get more than one in. Perhaps the QPR deal will bring in some finances to allow Ternent to do this, or maybe he will use his 8th and final short term loan.

Whatever happens in negogiations we will keep you updated. Arthur's contract runs out in the summer and it may be club thinking that to get some money and maybe a sell-on clause is the best for business.
