Burnley picked up their second successive away draw with a 0-0 scoreline against Wigan. The result leaves the Clarets still just 2 points above the drop zone. Burnley picked up another valuable point against Wigan yesterday to maintain our unbeaten start to the year.

The game survived a pitch inspection and it would be hard to believe that there was a match played anywhere else in the country on a poorer pitch than the one at the JJB. Uriah Rennie gave the go ahead and Burnley lined up with just one change from the victory over Gillingham, with Alan Moore taken out of the 16 man squad and replaced by Neil Wood.

The first half saw the hosts have a number of decent chances with Jensen making two top class saves to deny both Bullard and McCulloch. The Latics had a goal disallowed for pushing whilst at the other end Blake should have done better, when his shot was blocked, after good work from Camara. The moment of the first half was provided by Blake who beat 3 men brilliantly in the space of 2 seconds.

The second half started better than the first with Burnley playing the better football despite the deteriorating pitch. Blake was released on the far side with acres of space to himself, he should have scored as he advanced towards the goal but hit his shot straight at Filan.

The game was in danger of boiling over with numerous challenges on Burnley players' being allowed to happen before Rennie took action against Grant who was only giving as good as he got.

Wood, who grew in confidence as the game went on, had a decent chance whilst Jensen comfortably saved a couple of long range efforts. Bradley Orr came on to make his debut at the end when he replaced Little but there wasn't any more chances for either sides.

The result leaves the Clarets just 2 points above the relegation zone but if we continue to improve we should be alright.
