Defeat for Norwich meant things are getting tight at the top and the bottom of the 1st Division. Burnley's draw at Crystal Palace moves us above Nottingham Forest. Norwich City suffered a shock defeat at Carrow Road, with an Alun Armstrong goal enough for Bradford to pick up the 3 points. Bradford are now just 6 points behind Burnley after winning their last two games.

Norwich stay top but will feel the pressure with both West Brom and Sheffield United winning over the weekend. The Baggies beat Walsall, on Friday night, 2-0 with Jason Koumas and Geoff Horsefield getting the goals whilst United strolled to a 3-0 victory over Gillingham.

Sunderland are up to third place after Julio Arca's goal gave them a fourth consecutive win at the expense of Nottingham Forest who drop below Burnley.

Ricardo Fuller and David Healy got the goals for Preston who came from behind to win at West Ham. David Connolly opened the scoring but the hammers failed to get a second and the result means they are realistically only chasing a play-off place.

Ipswich remain in the play-off places after John McGreal's equaliser gave them a draw at Reading after Lloyd Owusu had put the Royals in front.

Crewe are up to ninth place after Steve Jones' second half goal gave them a win over bottom-of-the-table Wimbledon at Gresty Road.

Stoke's recent good form continued with a win over struggling Derby. Derby had scoed in the first minute through Lee Morris before Ade Akinbiyi levelled and then Gerry Taggart scored to give the Potters the win.

Cardiff City ended their poor run with a comeback victory over Rotherham. Stewart Talbot and ex-claret John Mullin both scored within the first 10 minutes to give Rotherham a two goal cushion but it wasn't enough with Peter Thorne,Graham Kavanagh and Rob Earnshaw all scoring before half time to give the Bluebirds the points.

There were 3 goalless games in the division with Wigan failing to score against Millwall, Coventry failed to against Watford and of course our game at Selhurst Park.
