Burnley's Youth team were beaten 2-1 by league leaders Wigan on Saturday. The defeat leaves the Clarets second from bottom in the table. The Youth side went down to Wigan on Saturday leaving the Clarets second to bottom in the table.

The League leaders were always going to prove strong opposition and so it proved on Saturday where the Lactics took the lead twice and managed to hold on at the second time of asking.

The Clarets had fallen behind to a first half goal before Ryan Townsend headed the side back into the game but the lead only lasted a few minutes when the Home team scored for a second time.

The young lads have just two more league games before they take their break over Christmas. The side are level on points with Bury and Rochdale with Stockport 4 points adrift at the bottom.

The next game for the lads is the Lancashire FA Youth Cup tomorrow night at the Turf. Preston North End are the visitors for the game which kicks off at 7pm.

There is a small admission fee on the night of just £3 for Adults and £1.50 for Concessions.

So if your not doing anything why not get yourself down there!!!
