The Clarets winless run at Bramall Lane now stretches to 13 games after the deafeat. The defeat came in yet another drab encounter which was settled by another defensive howler. The goal came just before half time when a hopeful ball into the Burnley box, led to confusion between West and Jenson, with West kicking the ball against Gnohere. The ball cannoned off the two Clarets into the path of Michael Tonge who had the easy task of stroking the ball home into an empty net. We've conceded some bad goals this season but i think this one tops the lot. Just what on earth was Jenson doing outside his 6 yard box and not claiming the ball?

The above was the sum total of events in a diabolical first 45 minutes of football. The second half wasn't any better and apart from one mistake from a defender that allowed Ian Moore challenge for a 50/50 ball with Gerrard that the keeper won, i cannot remember one save that Gerrard had to make.

Normally i'd try and write a decent length match report but in all honesty i think i've done more than enough to give the match justice with this short piece. A lot of debate has raged on the possibility of new signings over the last few weeks and i don't doubt for one second that Stan is trying to introduce some new signings to freshen things up. Hoepfully these signings will arrive sooner rather later.
