Benson Proud To Win Gots Award

Winger expresses delight after winning Goal of the Season Manuel Benson says it 'means so much' to him after winning Burnley's 2022/23 'Goal of the Season' award with his magnificent title-winning strike against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.

 The Belgian's effort in the second-half of the East Lancashire derby proved to be the winning goal in a memorable 1-0 victory over Rovers to secure Vincent Kompany's side the Sky Bet Championship trophy.

 Following a 16 goal shortlist, which included five Benson goals, his excellent finish at Ewood was voted 'Goal of the season' by the supporters via an online poll.

 After receiving the award, Benson said: “It feels very good to receive awards at any time, so to win the Goal of the Season award I am very proud. I will put it somewhere nice at home and I really love it.
