Stoppage time equaliser denies all three points for Clarets Burnley were denied a third consecutive victory on Friday night, as Baggies substitute Brandon Thomas-Asante cancelled out Jay Rodriguez's first half opener in the last minute of stoppage time at the Hawthorns.

Nathan Tella was brought down by Baggies goalkeeper David Button on the half-hour mark, with former Albion striker Rodriguez making no mistake from the spot.

Before Thomas-Asante was introduced with 20 minutes left and turned the ball home from close range in the dying seconds of an end-to-end clash.

Manager Vincent Kompany made just one change from the side that beat Millwall 2-0 on Tuesday night, with Ian Maatsen returning from suspended and into the side for Johann Berg Gudmundsson.

A good point away to a team which will be thereabouts at the season's end. The goal was a bit of a sickener coming so late so it will be interesting to see how VK gets them to overcome that in the next tough game.
