Part nine of our summer squad number feature Squad numbers were introduced for the first time in the 1999/2000 season and a generation of Clarets have since put their own special mark on a particular shirt.

 Repeating a series by contributor Wallace Chadwick which ran in the on-line Turf matchday magazine during the 2020/21 season, we will be highlighting who wore what and profiling some of those who made their mark at Turf Moor.

 This instalment features shirt number 10, worn by a plethora of top strikers and since 2016 by current incumbent Ashley Barnes.

Difficult one this one, we have had many good number 10's, Payts, Ade, Danny Ings, but again due to the Premier League just and only just I give it to Ashley, such a spoiler in your face player, but for goalscoring I have to go with Payts, prolific, awesome.

Danny Ings by a country mile, I was also disappointed when Andy Gray left, he was a big loss at the time.

Danny Ings I would go along with but Gray was trouble in the making if he had stayed.

I've given this plenty of thought and come up with the same analysis as Fc.
Ash The Bash for me.

Ings was a joy...the Padiham Predator saved us twice took us up once.
The others I didn't give much thought to if I'm honest.
