Clarets get first point on the board on positive night in the Midlands, The Clarets are up and running after the Premier League’s first goalless draw of the season earned them a point at the Hawthorns.

It might have been a stalemate and both sides were left waiting for their opening win.

But the Clarets at least have some reward to show for their efforts and something to build on after opening their account to move off the foot of the table.

And a first point could easily have been three as their best performance so far this season saw them as the most likely winners in a return to form that bodes well for the challenges to come.

The Clarets sported a new look of pale yellow in their third kit and also made changes to their starting line-up as they felt the effect of Covid.

Phil Bardsley’s positive test ruled him out and meant another new position for the versatile Erik Pieters, who took over at right-back.

At this stage a point is a positive. How is Brady doing on his return from injury ?

Brady is not up to his old standard yet, did only OK when he came on last night but then so did everyone else, Pope kept another clean sheet, good job too, Wood hit the bar but he really should have buried it, but as we all know he does miss a few. Sooner Mee is back in for Long the better.

In my opinion,Long was the best performer amongst the back four but yes,Mee's return can't come quick enough.

Last night showed up Dyche's obsession with hoofball big time;starting Barnes when he was clearly not match fit for the Premier League.
For me,Vydra or Jay should have started.

One bright spot was that McNeil looked more sprightly than of late..

Both Vydra and Jay have that quality touch about their play. Jay in particular was becoming more confident and using his physical stature to compliment his football intelligence. Brady is a good lad but I think his price tag was a little too complimentary. Ben Mee, very underrated. As for Barnes I really rate him but he needs complete physical fitness to be effective imo. Wood is a trad center forward but earns his corn. We are missing that something in midfield.
