Middlesbrough 0-0 Burnley Battling Burnley eked out another precious point as they edged edver closer to Premier League safety on a nerve-shredding afternoon on Teesside.

       The Clarets are still to win away from home this season after this latest stalemate on their travels. 

      But three draws away to three of the bottom four clubs in Hull, Sunderland and now Middlesbrough have been valuable currency in looking to achieve the objective of sustaining top-flight football.
 
    Sean Dyche's side has conceded just one goal in those three games and they made it back-to-back clean sheets thanks to another never-say-die defensive performance backed up by one world-class save from Tom Heaton.
 
     Not that this was a complete backs-to-the-wall effort against a Boro team in desperate need of a win to revive their own flagging survival hopes.
 
       The Clarets also took the fight to the home side and went close to winning it through Robbie Brady and Sam Vokes.
 
      But the two sides that slogged it out for the Champonship title last season could not be separated this time - the outcome again favouring Burnley, though, as they climbed back up to 12th in the table.
 
      The Clarets had made two changes to the side that ended their seven-game winless run with Tueday night's vital 1-0 victory over Stoke City.
 
      Ashley Barnes returned in place of Vokes and Brady started for the first time in five games as the replacement for the injured Steven Defour. And it was Brady who went close to giving Burnley an early lead.
 
    A foul by Daniel Ayala on Barnes allowed Brady a set-piece opportunity and from almost 25 yards the Republic of Ireland international cipped the top of the crossbar with a fine attempt.

I think that should do it, Swansea had a very difficult task before today, getting 8 points more than us from the remaining 7 games, now it's 9 more from just 6 games, mathematically possible, but it ain't going to happen.

We're safe, Premier League football for another season, fine if you like that sort of thing, but I'm not sure I do.

I predicted a 1-1 today on Sky Super Six, can't see Burnley going down this season tbh, I'm @#$%& at predictions though. Didn't put a coupon on Tuesday so just wrote down 10 teams for fun, yes you guessed it, the ten came up, so put a few lines on for Wednesday and this weekend, all were @#$%& by Liverpool and Celtic midweek.
Back to the drawing board.

If it gets overhead, I'm not going out - respect! I did mange to break a rib years ago on a 2ft wave in 2ft of water!

Haven't been out lately and now taking the caravan out for a week as the kids are on Spring Break. Central California - wine country - bit of peace and quite - except for the kids that is...

I've been telling you for weeks now we need 39 - that's another 3. We are not safe yet, be bad if we went down and you didn't have a season ticket to the Championship you love....just sayin'

You're right SC, if relegation was on I'd have got another ST, but it isn't so I won't be having any regrets. You've got more faith in Swansea's ability to turn themselves into a top six team for the rest of the season than I have, because that's what they'll have to do to pass us. And this assumes we lose our last six games as well, which won't happen either.

Well, BC, 3 games from now we will be only two points ahead of both Swansea and Hull with 3 to play. I am not as confident as you about this yet.

I just hope you made the right decision - for both of us - as I get to watch every game if we are in the PL. Phil Bird and Clarets Player in the Championship.
