Michael Kightly sent the Clarets back to the Championship summit with a goal worthy of winning any game.
The Clarets winger latched onto Kieran Trippier’s square pass with a quarter of a tight game remaining and found the top corner with an exquisite finish. Burnley dominated large parts of the Turf Moor clash with the Tykes, but despite the return of Danny Ings neither keeper had been seriously troubles until Kightly struck, And with leaders Leicester and second placed Queens Park Rangers both dropping points, the goal allowed Sean Dyche’s men to leapfrog them and regain top spot. In addition to Ings welcome return, Michael Duff was back after serving his one game suspension, although Dean Marney was still missing through injury. And with the Clarets’ formidable strike-pairing re-united, the hosts could have grabbed the lead inside two minutes as Sam Vokes sprinted clear, but fired tamely wide. Moments later, the Welshman was inches away with an audacious 30-yard volley after Tykes’ keeper Jack Butland raced from goal and scuffed his clearance. This promotion push has certainly grabbed the attention of The Longside!
Cracking report that, makes it sound like we played them off the park whereas, in the first half we were abysmal, and only slightly better in the 2nd.

3 points, however we got them was all that mattered today.
Just Marney to come back now to complete the 11 that got us top of the pile all those weeks ago.

Obviously I wasn't there but I think this is one where the result is more important than the performance given our recent run.
Not winning today would have been a real downer, so the result was the all important stat for me

Of course it was an important result, we simply had to take the three points today and we did. Long term it was depressing to watch, we've been under par for several games now and there was no sign of a return to form in this game. For long periods we were being outplayed by the bottom of the league and that doesn't bode well.

Few tough ones coming up. 4 points from next two would be a big plus. Then two games away against sides with new managers.

With our strongest eleven which got us to the top of the division we could win the division, we only 'dipped' when we had players out, and even then we were still picking up points when we were by all accounts dire.
Marney should be back for the Leicester game so it's looking good again. It doesn't matter so much with wingers being out because they're interchangeable anyway, but it seems we cannot afford to have the likes of Heaton, Trippier, Mee, Jones, Marney, Ings ot Vokes out of the team.
Long's a good deputy for centre half so we can cope even if one of them is out.
Like ManHug said, we have to get lucky on the injuries/suspensions front, but we were drawing rather than losing when we lost key players. And that was out sticky spell.
Mind you, not spending that little bit extra on Ashley Barnes isn't looking such a good idea now.
Otherwise it's looking good again. Without Marney that was a good result today, just the kind of game Burnley teams of the past would typically fail to win, home bankers.
Just noticed a few on CM moaning that Voke's goal wasn't offside. I haven't seen a replay so I can't be sure, but I was more or less in line with it and he looked well off from where I was sat, liner got it right imo, no complaints from me.
