Burnley 1 Bournemouth 1

DANNY Ings struck to salvage a point for the Clarets against his former club – just as Bournemouth looked set to stage a smash and grab raid.

The Cherries led through Tokelo Rantie’s first goal for the club after the Clarets had dominated the opening half,

And as Burnley pressed for the equaliser deep into the second half, that combination of Vokes and Ings struck again against their ex-employees, as the Welshman set-up Ings for his 14th goal of the campaign.

Ings reacted first to Vokes’ knock-down and beat Camp with a delicate header at his near post to deny Eddie Howe on his Turf Moor return, extend the unbeaten run to 11 games and keep the Clarets a point clear at the summit.

Burnley made one change, with Dean Marney returning in central midfield and David Edgar dropping to the bench.

But it was the visitors, spearheaded by Rantie, who could have opened the scoring within two minutes.

The lively South African, a £2.6m signing form Malmo, raced through the heart of the Clarets defence and fired over just as the clarets shirts closed in.

Brett Pitman’s shot then looped up off a defender’s boot, forcing Tom Heaton into evasive action as he tipped the dipping ball over his own crossbar.

But the Clarets were soon on the attack and from David Jones whipped free kick, Sam Vokes headed narrowly over on the run.

Frustrating day all round. They were a poor side who scored a good goal, we just never really got going.

Did we use such blatant time wasting tactics under Howe? Suppose it's ok when you winning.

I think people complained that we didn't and called him naive.

Its not too bad a result when you consider the results of Blackpool.Leicester,QPR etc..keeps our unbeaten run going ... sometimes things just dont go for you in these type of games... looking forward to next weeks game already.. (Sm152)

International break now which may be a good thing after 2 draws to get our act back together BUT Forest up next and they are on a roll....

Yes but usually we conceded in the 6th minute of 5 minutes injury time!
